It always seems impossible, until it’s done!
As I’ve written about before I don’t really do new year resolutions as I much prefer a series of intentions or goals and not just all fitness ones!
I’ve not set mine yet, it’s been a busy few weeks so I’ve scheduled some time my diary to get this done when my head is a little less busy.
At this time of year no matter what you can’t help but feed of the drive of people setting resolutions and goals, all full of positivity to becoming a “better version of themselves” whether it’s health and fitness related or otherwise.
Goal setting is one of my favorite parts of the health and fitness scene, whether it’s just to be consistent or you have a marathon PB your targeting I love hearing the success stories and let’s be honest challenging yourself with goals is a great way to keep yourself motivated throughout the year.
But these goals are great until the back to life, back to reality sets in and they can start to feel impossible and the struggles set in and more often than not you find yourself giving up.
It’s these moments that determine how much we want it.
Our why.
No matter what these challenging times will come BUT if you prepare for them it can pay off by giving you that support when you need it.
1. Set regular reminders to monitor your progress
When your setting those goals it’s all to easy to carried away in the moment, excited at the thought of a new beginning but what happens once that goal hits the back seat?
Setting a deadline for the goal is a great idea but an even better plan would be to back track and set various check points along the way so you can evaluate your progress.
Set these far enough apart that you are able to make some progress in between them, but close enough together that you won’t forget about them.
It will then act as a real motivator along the way and make that bigger goal not feel as far away as it might be.
2. Create a visual reminder of your goal and why you want to achieve it
When you set your goal don’t just think it, write it, draw it, decorate it.
Put it somewhere you see it every day.
Now add your WHY.
This is often where people get stuck, but start by thinking how your life will be better for it?
Why you want to achieve it?
Don’t just try and think of one word, think of all the reasons that reaching your goal will benefit you and others.
Then see if there is a theme to these benefits.
That is your why.
Use that word on your creative drawing, having that regular reminder of why your working towards your goal will help you stay motivated for the long haul.
3. Break the goal down into smaller goals
So we’ve said about breaking down those check points but now it’s time to break your goal down. See if you can match smaller goals to target by each check in.
Any goal can be broken down into smaller tasks, no matter how big it is to begin with.
So set those strategies and turn impossible to possible.
And remember it always seems impossible until it’s done.
As always the team are here to help, so check out all our offerings for January ?? or if you need that extra help in goal setting we have our Rise 23 event next weekend where you’ll walk away with a beautiful planner filled with YOUR 23 steps to success in 2023, a vision Board and action plan to boot.

Here’s to a fabulous year, no matter what your goal.
Love
