So another week passes by and further changes annouced, I always get this sense of anxiousness when you know there are changes are afoot and this week was no different. I really had hoped that we may be able to see a return to larger groups of runners outside at the very least but those rules don’t look set to change as yet.

Having spoke to Run instructor Debbie we still are not comfortable releasing any road running groups or even any specific courses at this stage. I just don’t feel even with the new 1 metre rule we can keep our runners safe on the pathways and roads of our usual routes, and with changes occuring frequently I feel that our ad-hoc sunset weekly runs leaves us in the most flexible position to make quick amends as lockdown is lifted. 

So we continue with our Sunset runs safely on local trails with the schedule being released the previous week. We will gradually bring these in to ealier timings but for now they will be 8.30 pm onwards as we continue to chase that perfect sunset moment.

With the news that gyms are to remain closed we still have our Virtual offerings including our next round of Lockdown Shred 2 due to start on 6th July. June members results are coming in still and it’s been a real success from faster running, weight loss, inch loss, to just pure motivation and energy from these short 20 minute bursts.

Weather wise we are in for a about a week of unsettled, cooler weather but from next weekend it’s looking to re-build some heat just in time for my birthday! I know I will be enjoying getting out on these cooler days before that kicks in again.
