Tick tock, Tick tock
You’ve got to make it marvellous |
So last week I spoke about languishing and doing more of what makes your heart sing.
It appears that it hit a cord with many of you but still many of us are struggling.
Tick tock, tick tock.
The clock is ticking…
On to those shorter days
Colder mornings
Darker nights
Having had 2 years navigating a pandemic and not being able to “plan” we now are hit with the doom & gloom of the forthcoming economy and along with it goes our glimmer of light of winter nights made warmer by a visit to a local pub, weekends away cosying up by a log fire in the country side and theatre trips to brighten the toughest of scrooges at Christmas.
Whether we like it or not doom & gloom seems to be the only thing in sights this winter.
Or is it?
We survived lockdowns.
That “back to basics” approach to life.
Family games nights.
Painting.
Baking.
Countryside walks with family and friends.
Running became the sport of choice, in fact a sport England active lives survey reported an increase of 731,000 people during lockdown!
Exercising online. In fact the first lockdown saw an an increase of 88% in exercise as a survey of 12,913 participants from 139 countries showed.
There’s so much to embrace this coming winter if you keep your mind positive and focus on how to finish the year strong and what you can do rather than on what your not going to be able to do.
So now’s the time to make those steps to set yourself up for success this winter.
Know exactly what “finishing the year strong” means to you?
Is it finishing that bedroom you started to decorate?
Painting that picture you said you’d paint?
Running that 5 km park run?
Wearing that old favourite dress again?
Then reset your motivation.
What’s stopping you from having that strong finish?
What’s getting in your way?
Then create a plan.
Not a plan that has you sprinting through the last 3 months of the year but one that breaks down your goal into smaller chunks. One step at a time, a step that makes your heart sing each time you take it.
Don’t just leave it there.
Track your progress.
Stick to each of those steps, each week.
And be accountable.
Whatever your goal tell a friend, a coach a family member.
Make it real.
The biggest motivator is often a friend checking in to see how your getting on!
We to are feeling your frustrations, having worked through a pandemic and transformed Elite Conditioning twice over we know the future is tough but are focused on what we can do to help.
